The PITBUL project includes research partners from renowned academic institutions and companies working together to bring the latest advances in science, technology and medicine to tuberculosis diagnosis. Our mission is to collaboratively create a cost-effective, ultrafast, DNA-based tuberculosis test for people all over the world.

 

Istituto Nazionale per le Malattie Infettive “Lazzaro Spallanzani”
The National Institute for Infectious diseases “L. Spallanzani” (INMI) aims to ensure high-level care for patients with infectious diseases, mobilize a global response to infectious diseases, and develop integration between clinical, epidemiological and basic research in order to promote the improvement of diagnostic interventions – therapeutic, assistance and prevention in the field of infectious diseases.
Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital
The mission of the Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital (DRRH) is to provide quality, affordable, equitable and sustainable regional referral laboratory services in order to contribute the quality of health status of the community of Dodoma Region and central zone of Tanzania.
Latvijas Universitate
The Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine of the University of Latvia was established to support medical research, translation of research into practice and promote evidence based medicine and medical education. The Institute’s clinical partner, Riga East University Hospital, is a multi-field medical treatment institution that provides extensive diagnostics and treatment to patients. The hospital comprises six clinical centers including the Latvian Centre of Infectious Diseases and Centre of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, which includes 1015 physicians and over 1600 medical treatment and patient-care specialists.

TATAA Biocenter was founded in 2001 by pioneers in qPCR, and have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience within nucleic acid analysis.
MultiD Analyses AB
MultiD Analyses AB was founded in 2001 by leading scientists and software engineers from top Swedish universities with a focus on multidimensional data analyses. MultiD develops software that creates new possibilities for analysis of test samples in the areas of spectroscopy, fluorescence detection, data and numerical analysis, chemometry, computing, software engineering, and real-time PCR.

Fraunhofer is Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization. Fraunhofer’s research efforts are geared entirely to people’s needs: health, security, communication, energy and the environment. Fraunhofer ICT-IMM is focused on the fields of energy and chemical technology as well as analysis systems and sensors. The goal of Fraunhofer ICT-IMM is to enable process reliability and availability of materials, measurement data and information for product, manufacturing and analytical issues, also in the field of diagnostics.
